Novation: Firmware Update v1.1 for Launchkey MK3
Add layers to your creative expression
Look forward to inspired melodies and more customisable control in the first update to Launchkey [MK3] and Launchkey Mini [MK3]. The v1.1 firmware update brings some important and functional features that have been requested by the Novation community, all aimed to increase creativity in your music making sessions.
We’re introducing Strum Mode to the Launchkey Mini [MK3] and Launchkey [MK3] – a new feature aimed at igniting that creative spark and adding an extra dimension to your melodies.
Using Strum Mode is easy. You’ll be able to find the function as first of the three arpeggiator modes that are labelled with mysterious symbols. You can hold down notes and trigger Strum Mode by using the mod strip on the Launchkey Mini, or the mod wheel on the Launchkey [MK3]. For total sonic variation, you can also use Strum Mode alongside other arpeggiator modes.
As well as the addition of Strum Mode, the v1.1 update sees a few added extras for Launchkey Mini [MK3]. Firstly, pad brightness will now be adjustable for more comfortable visibility in all lighting conditions.
Secondly, Launchkey Mini [MK3] owners will now be able to switch pad velocity on or off. Depending on your preference, you’ll have greater control over your playing and be able personalise your user experience –especially helpful for finger drummers who prefer to have a fixed velocity. In another addition, clock output from the MIDI port can now be toggled on or off. This increases flexibility for users when connecting Launchkey Mini [MK3] to other MIDI devices.
Lastly, the shift, arp and fixed chord buttons can now be latched with double-tap. This enables handed control of shift-modified buttons — perfect for tweaking with one hand while playing with the other, or when simultaneously playing guitar or using a connected synth.
