MixDream lives up to its name
The SPL MixDream is a cascadable 16 x 2 analog outboard mixer in a 2U rackmount chassis that allows you to expand your DAW or digital console with active analog stereo summing and insert capabilities. MixDream provides high-quality analog summing without pan and fader controls, allowing you to maintain the full breadth of your DAW automation. A single device can convert up to 16 audio tracks to stereo, and if you need additional tracks, you may connect several MixDreams. If you need to incorporate analog equipment into your digital production environment with analog stereo mixdown, the SPL MixDream is a must-have.
Provides the advantages of analog summing
Is analog summing superior to digital summing? We avoid general assertions, but we do know that summing with the MixDream results in rich mix depth, accurate instrument localization, and stunning stereo image. These are the analog summing benefits we’ve heard about – and what you may expect when utilizing the MixDream. Discover the benefits of analog summing in your studio with the this device.
Superior processing capability
Compared to ordinary summing devices, MixDream’s insert and processing capabilities contribute to amazing mixes. While high-quality summing is vital, processing during mixdown has a greater impact on the sound. When engineers evaluate the merits of famous analog consoles, they frequently focus on the excellent analog processing of such boards.
Flexibility is its forte
Each input channel of SPL’s MixDream has a signal-present LED and a switchable insert loop. Per-channel 3-stage toggle switches allow you to control whether or not a channel is added to the mix bus. Use the No-Mix button to remove a channel from the mix; it will remain accessible for re-recording via its Direct Output. The No-Mix mode is very beneficial when you wish to add track compression, as the compressed signal may be re-recorded into your DAW for level automation. Without this so-called bounce-back feature, your compressed signals could not be automated (since the compressor is placed after the fader). It distinguishes itself from the competition by providing clever, adaptable functionality.
